Stepmom: Sends text messages to skids.
Skids: No response.
Days later...
Husband: (excited) "Did you know that [random event or cool thing] happened?"
Skids: (in teenage angst tone) "Uh, yeah." 90s Interpretation would be "Duh, gawd..."
Husband: "What?! How did you know about that??"
Skids: "Stepmom told us."
Stepmom: [befuddled...apparently cell phone service does work]
